New Artist Activations for CHROMA 2024

CHROMA 2024 introduces three exciting new artist activations that explore the themes of identity, connection, and shared humanity:

  • Kevin M. Fletcher will present “Echoes of Unity”, an outdoor mural that captures the essence of Miami as a cultural mosaic. Through flowing abstract figures and architectural shapes, Fletcher’s mural will evolve in real-time, representing the dynamic relationship between the city’s multicultural community, its iconic architecture, and the natural environment.
  • Rafael Montilla (KUBE Man) will bring his thought-provoking KUBE Man Performance Series, embodying the powerful idea that “All People Are Created Equal.” The performance symbolizes balance and interconnectedness, challenging audiences to reflect on human equality through the geometric form of the cube.
  • Navya Nataraj, known as TheTablaQueen, will perform live tabla fusion, blending traditional Indian rhythms with contemporary music styles. Her performances will showcase the universal power of music to unite people across cultures. Navya Nataraj, known as TheTablaQueen, will perform live Tabla blending her own sounds of traditional Indian beats with modern music styles. Navya is one of the only female Tabla artists of her generation to highlight music’s universal ability to bring people together across cultures. TheTablaQueen has performed at nearly 100 events including VP Kamala Harris’ Diwali party, Smithsonian Institute, and Art Basel Miami for Lucid Design District.

About Lucid Design District

Established in 2021 as a studio and exhibition space for founder Payal Tak’s personal artwork, Lucid Design District opened as an art gallery during Art Basel Miami 2022. Located in Miami Design District’s “art corner” (10-12 NE 41 St. at Miami Ave.), Lucid neighbors iconic spaces like the Museum Garage and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami. The gallery was born from Tak’s desire to connect with the community through collaborative art exchanges. Lucid Design District hosts group exhibitions, educational art talks, and artist networking events. The 3700-sf space is also an ideal environment for design-focused networking events, featuring a large reception area, 8 curio-style ‘idea spaces’ for solo showcases, a full-size kitchen, and a 75’ outdoor seating area with a large installation wall.
